Those of you who follow me on instagram may have seen a little 'work in progress' shot of this store display already. What may not have been so obvious was the amount of phaffing around the display took. Mostly because I started with one idea, and midway through changed my mind completely and started again.
Ah well, a woman's prerogative and all that!
One of the most effective elements of the display is the paper bunting.
Who doesn't love a little bunting?
Fabulous for kids bedrooms or party decorations, and this paper bunting proves that they don't have to be fancy or fussy or difficult, and that often, simple and less contrived is indeed, best.
You could make this type of bunting with magazine pages, newspaper, or wallpaper. Or even kids artwork - you know, when they produce prolifically, and the colours are great, but the subject might not be making much sense!
I've used two sheets of giftwrap. Much more politically correct!
Each sheet of giftwrap gave me 30 bunting flags.
Literally half an hour later I had several metres of bunting to play with, and the display was back on track.
What's more it's budget friendly, and super sweet.
Oh yes, there is the driftwood swing also. But I'm not sure I trust myself to give instructions for that, but I knew that my girl guide knot badge would eventually come in handy!
