Our home is featured in the latest issue of Australian Home Beautiful. As I mentioned on Facebook earlier this week, I figured that the teenager in our house would die of mortification when she saw it. Sure enough, by the time I got home that night, two of her friends had texted her.
Why did I let her wear that outfit, and why did her hair look as though she had plugged it in to an electrical socket?
Well, I thought, and still do think that the 'outfit' looks fine. I can't speak for the hair. It does look as though it has been through a gorse bush backwards, but I think I had too much to think about at the time of the photoshoot to notice. Like, possibly how my own hair was looking, and was I holding my tummy in!
Eva thinks she looks fine (!) and it was a good thing she had just had her fringe trimmed properly because I had done such a terrible job of it before that, when I had cut it very crooked.
And she marvels at how tidy her room, and the house looks.
I marvel too. It looks positively empty. Minimal almost.
I promise, I've filled a few more gaps and added several more treasures since these photos were taken!
Just a couple of pages shown here. Unbelievably, there are ten pages in the magazine.
Quote of the day must surely be this one...
"Colour and pattern are to an interior what brown sugar and cream are to porridge - they add the X factor" ~ Amanda
I fear I really did say that. And believe it to be true too!
But wait, there's more.
Just when you thought to yourself, surely, enough is enough...
New Zealand's Homestyle magazine have a feature on our bathrooms in their latest August/September issue. Yes really.
I'm sorry! Two magazines in the same month.
I swear I could not have seen that coming.
Especially on top of Living etc and NZ House & Garden earlier this year.
I will not let it go to my head!
But thanks Home Beautiful and Homestyle.
You make me feel very proud.
